Creative Arts for Home and Hobby (formerly Home Economics) Visit the Creative Arts for Home and Hobby Division Exhibits located in The Richards Building. Handmade quilts, gingerbread houses, and other handicrafts are on display. Come watch our food, beer, and wine contests along with how-to's in our demonstration kitchen. Also learn a new craft in our demonstration area.

The Home and Hobby Committee is happy to announce, with the success of our quilt block contest last year, we are starting another contest!!! We have four choices of fabrics this year! Check out our wonderful fabrics that have horses or cows or pigs or a combination of farm animals as your choice for quilt fabrics for next year’s block contest! Quilt Block Kits will be on sale at the Home and Hobby area in the Richards Building. Kit Price $5.00, which includes a fat quarter of fabric, quilt block rules and quilt block label.
This was a complete sell out in 2009, so don’t wait. A limited number of Quilt Block Kits will be available.
Hobby Expo!
Last year we had :Wood Turning demonstrations, a Taxidermist ALL 10 days of the Fair, a Professional Fly Tier for ALL 10 days of the Fair, a luthier, (a builder of solid body guitars) and Model Trains are confirmed with many others in the works! Keep an eye on this space for 2011 attractions.
Two scholarships will be awarded in Creative Arts for Home and Hobby (formerly Home Ec) for an adult and a child, which will enable the recipients to attend a workshop of their choice.
