The Springfest Garden Show Inspiring and educating gardeners for 17 years, Springfest returns just in time to help you through those last gray, slushy, muddy days of winter. The sun-drenched warmth of the Springfest Conservatory will be filled with garden displays overflowing with color, fragrance, and inspiration for visitors to glean ideas for their own gardens. The area’s premier landscape companies and garden designers are on hand throughout the show to share their knowledge or set up consultations. Visitors will find great shopping and horticultural services in every nook and cranny of the 35,000 sq. ft. extravaganza; everything from topiaries, garden tools and seeds to arborists, plant societies and master gardeners. A notable panel of speakers will be presenting lectures on a wide variety of topics. An emphasis on cooking from your garden will be featured in an all-day Symposium on Sunday. The Container Competition, will grace the Entry Garden where arrangements by talented amateurs and pros will compete for the coveted Blue Ribbon. Springfest Garden Show is a non-profit production of the New Jersey State Fair®/Sussex County Farm & Horse Show.
Springfest History: In 1996, the non-profit Agricultural Division of the Sussex County Farm & Horse Show / New Jersey State Fair, came up with the idea of a garden show to showcase horticultural development in New Jersey and to establish a scholarship fund for students preparing for a career in horticulture and agriculture. Thanks to the many supporters, that first show has grown from the original 100 x 100’ greenhouse attracting 1,000 visitors to where we are today. – with over 30,000 sq. ft. of 13 inspiring gardens, more than 70 vendors, dozens of educational exhibits and design competitions and over 10,000 visitors. Among our major supporters are Bev & Bruce Gordon of Sussex County, who through their generosity have donated the magnificent Springfest Conservatory. The Scholarship Fund has provided assistance to many outstanding students and continues to grow to fund the education of future generations. The Springfest Committee, comprised of volunteers throughout the horticultural community, are committed to providing a beautiful, high-quality venue to help spread our mission. These efforts have won the show’s several awards, both locally and nationally and has contributed to the reputation of “New Jersey’s finest flower & garden show” The Star-Ledger.
